Assalam Mosque مسجد السلام

Permit granted: the renovation begins

Let's build the house of Allah together.

Our mosque needs a real home: bigger, safer, open to everyone. Every gift is a sadaqa jariya, a charity that keeps on giving.

Seven good reasons to get involved in building Assalam Mosque

  1. A sacred and rewarded act

Taking part in this project means carrying out a spiritual work of immeasurable value.

“Whoever builds a house of Allah, God will build one for him in Paradise.” (Hadith)

  2. Meeting an urgent need

There is not enough room to welcome all the worshippers. A dignified mosque is a necessity for our community.

  3. Preserving our spiritual and cultural heritage

The mosque is a pillar of our heritage. Showcasing it means giving that heritage back the place it deserves.

  4. Contributing to the diversity of Belgium's religious landscape

Islam is an integral part of Belgium. A modern and open mosque will strengthen the cohesion and diversity of our municipality.

  5. Offering a safe, educational place to our youth

A space where our young people can get to know their culture and their religion, far from excesses and misguided paths, to help them flourish.

  6. Creating a space for meeting and dialogue

A place to exchange, talk, listen and recharge spiritually. A centre open to the community and to society.

  7. Promoting tolerance and respect

This place will be open to all, in a spirit of exchange, tolerance and mutual respect, as the Muslim tradition requires.
